INCREASING EXPORTS: A woman weaving of coir mat at Kochi.

Coir and coir products export from the country increased both in terms of value and quantity during the last fiscal. Exports totalled 1,36,207 tonnes, valued at Rs 508.45 crore.

The unit value of coir also increased helping the sector tide over high prices of raw materials and rising production costs.
