`The city is the most well-connected in Karnataka'

Mangalore , Sept. 4

The potential of Mangalore in various sectors should be showcased to attract investments to the region, according to Mr Anantakrishna, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Karnataka Bank Ltd.

Conducive atmosphere

However, he said, environment conducive for this is needed in Mangalore.

Referring to the proposed mega investments in the Mangalore SEZ (special economic zone) project, he said they would lead to economic development in the area. Banks could provide assistance to entrepreneurs to participate in the economic development of the area.

Stressing the need for tourism development, he said the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts boast of rich heritage. This aspect should be made use of to highlight the tourism potential of the region.
