Principal Global to invest in emerging markets

Principal Pnb Asset Management Company has announced the access to emerging markets for Indian investors through the Principal Global Opportunities Fund.

The open-ended equity scheme has been investing in international securities.

The Principal Global Opportunities Fund will now invest in Principal Global Investors Funds Emerging Markets Equity Fund, managed by PrincipalGlobal Investors.

The minimum investment amount in the fund would be Rs 5,000 for existing investors and Rs 10, 000 for new investors.

"Through Principal Global Opportunities Fund, we bring to the Indian investor convenient access to international equities from emerging markets backed by Principal's international expertise in equity investing and a disciplined investment approach. The regulations announced by SEBI on August 2 significantly widen the universe of eligible investments that Principal Global Opportunities Fund can invest in," said Mr Rajan Krishnan, Business Head - Asset Management, Principal Pnb AMC Pvt Ltd.

Principal Global Investors Funds Emerging Markets Equity Fund offers diversification across Asia (ex-Japan), Eastern Europe, West Asia, Africa, Latin America with top holdings in countries such as Brazil, Russia and China.
