Ashok Leyland Aug sales up 37%

Chennai, Sept. 5

Ashok Leyland sold 6,483 trucks last month compared with 4,737 vehicles in August 2005, registering a rise of 37 per cent. In the April-August period of the current year, the company sold 28,754 vehicles against 22,340 in the same period last year, a 29 per cent rise, according to a statement from the company. During the period, the company exported 2,291 vehicles against 1,691 previously.
