Q-Free eyes foray into Indian toll market

Our Bureau

Mumbai , Sept. 6

Norway-based Q-Free, one of Europe's leading supplier of electronic toll collection (ETC) systems, has set its sights on India as one of its potential growth markets.

The company expects the toll automation market in India to grow substantially, especially in the light of road projects such as the Golden Quadrilateral stretch and the North South-East West corridors.

Mr Oddvar Solemsli, Q-Free's Sales & Marketing Director, said, "the road user charging market is growing rapidly driven by the need to finance new road infrastructure, reduce congestion, improve environmental conditions. We do plan to expand our business and India is, of course, a major focus area."
