MR M.THIAGARAJAN, Managing Director, Paramount Airways, at a press meet in Hyderabad on Wednesday. G. Krishnaswamy
Hyderabad , Sept. 6 After consolidating its presence in the South in the next three-four months, Paramount Airways is planning to expand to North India. "We will go to the North beyond winter," Mr M. Thiagarajan, Managing Director of the Coimbatore-based airline, said. Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, he said the airline would connect Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam, Tirupati and Bangalore. Besides, it would enhance frequency to Chennai. The new service to Hyderabad would have a First-Class category, offering more comfort to the passengers. In order to cater to the growing itinerary, the airline plans to add more aircraft to its fleet. From the present three, it would grow to five by the month-end and 12 by the end of 2007. In the following year, it would have three more aircraft. The airline was planning to cash in on the Andhra Pradesh Government's offer of huge cut in sales tax on fuel if the airline operated more than 140 flights a week. As part of this, the company would designate two aircraft for Hyderabad from the first week of October. From a total of 20 services, the airline would gradually increase the number significantly.
