Infosys expands Czech facility

Our Bureau

Bangalore , Sept. 6

Infosys Technologies Ltd said on Wednesday that it is doubling the capacity of its near-shore delivery facility at Brno in the Czech Republic by adding a new 350-seat unit.

The facility would open in January 2007 and continue to deliver Business Process Outsourcing and increase its capacity for IT services to its European customers, Infosys said in a press release.

The expansion in the Czech Republic, the opening of the second onshore development centre in Swindon, UK, the existing onshore development centre in Germany and the near-shore operations in Mauritius reflect the increasing adoption of outsourcing by European companies, the company said.

The original Brno facility, opened in 2004, handles business processes such as sales order management, finance and accounts, market research and underwriting for clients across 16 European countries, it said.
