IOB opens field general manager office in Coimbatore

Indian Overseas Bank is trying to get the best from centres where it has a strong hold by opening what is known as `Field General Manager's (FGM) office', an extended arm of its central office.

The bank has already opened this extended arm in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Ernakulam, Kolkata and Hyderabad. The bank's Chairman and Managing Director, Mr T. S. Narayanasami, inaugurated the Coimbatore arm on Wednesday.

Substantiating the establishment of this set up here, Mr Narayanasami said the bank has a network of 117 branches and a business mix of Rs 5,600 crore in this region, comprising Coimbatore, Erode and Salem.

The FGM office at Coimbatore would have control over eight districts such as Nilgiris, Erode, Karur, Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri.
