Idea moves into Himachal

Aditya Birla Group promoted Idea Cellular on Wednesday announced the launch of its services in Himachal Pradesh. Idea is the sixth operator to launch in the region where operators including Airtel, Reliance and BSNL are offering telephone services.

Idea will cover key towns and highways in two phases. In the first phase, services are available in Shimla, Mandi, Solan Baddi, Kullu, and Sundernagar. In Phase 2, services will be available in eight more important towns, which are Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Manali, Kufri, Chail, Kasauli, Parwanoo and Nalagarh.

Announcing the launch of services, Mr Vikram Mehmi, President and CEO, Idea Cellular, said Idea has applied for a pan India cellular licence
