Foreign Direct Investment Markets - Stock Exchanges Our Bureau
New Delhi , Sept 6 A policy framework on FDI in stock exchanges is on the cards. The Finance Ministry is likely to soon submit its suggestions on this issue to the Commerce and Industry Ministry. "A policy on FDI in stock exchanges will soon become a reality," a senior Finance Ministry official told newspersons on the sidelines of a function organised for the inauguration of new regional office for the BSE today. The Finance Ministry is yet to firm up its view on the issue of FDI in stock exchanges. Officials also indicated that the Government would consult both the SEBI and the Reserve Bank of India before taking a final view. Mr Rajnikant Patel, Managing Director and CEO of BSE, said that the exchange proposes to expand its online training and facilitate certification through the BSE Training Institute at the regional centres.
