Kochi , Sept. 7

The Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode (IIM K), is organising Crucible 2006, a seminar on `The Changing Face of Indian Economy' at JW Marriot, Saket, New Delhi on September 9. The event is expected to bring together some of the eminent thought leaders and policy makers who will be deliberating on the various aspects of India's development paradigm.

While Tata Consultancy Services is the Gold Sponsor and Hughes Net Global Education is the Silver Sponsor of the event, Business Line is the print media partner for Crucible 2006.

15 years of reforms

The seminar is meant to commemorate 15 years of Indian economic reforms, and also to celebrate 10 years of IIM Kozhikode's establishment. The daylong event would assess the achievements and fallouts of fifteen years of liberalisation and would identify a roadmap for future development. The event would revolve around three sectors - infrastructure, manufacturing and ICE (IT, Communication and Entertainment). The seminar would also focus on public-private partnership as a model for future growth and examine the role of managers as drivers of change.

A host of eminent personalities from the industry and the Government are expected to share their experiences and vision for the high growth sectors of infrastructure, manufacturing and ICE.

The speakers include Mr Suresh Pachauri, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions; Mr Rajeeva Ratna Shah, Member Secretary, Planning Commission.
