Havell's shines on acquisition talk

Rumours that Havell's India is in talks to buy out a European company have been dogging the counter on the bourses.

While the stock price movement does not indicate any such corporate development, analysts remain convinced that the development is on the anvil. Marketmen maintain that there will be no sharp run up at this counter as it was ex-bonus recently and has undergone a stock split. It is being touted as a good long-term bet.

Havell's India is the leader in the electrical consumer durable market and manufactures a variety of consumer durables that have application in housing and commercial construction, including switchgears, cables, switches etc.

The anticipated acquisition is expected to add new markets for the company.
