RPG Transmission: Betting on orders

The stock of RPG Transmission Ltd witnessed an almost 8 per cent jump on the BSE on Friday to close at Rs 147.75. It hit the upper circuit at Rs 151.45 intra-day. The counter has gained almost 22 per cent over the past week and almost 36 per cent month-on-month. A healthy to robust order book, post restructuring, has provided clarity on earnings, say analysts.

There is a belief that the company is all set to benefit from the massive investments lined up in the transmission segment. While its current order book stands at around Rs 375 crore (1.9 times FY06 revenues), RPGT has already bid for orders worth Rs 200-Rs 250 crore. The bid results are expected next month.

The company has capabilities for design manufacture and construction of high voltage power lines and microwave, radio and TV towers etc.
