Woos customers with cheap prices

Chennai , Sept. 9

Have you ever wanted to buy one of those sleek looking display screens that players such as Apple, Panasonic and Sony have, but couldn't because of the price tag? Now you can match the big players in style by buying a product that's almost half in price.

Wireless TV

Connoiseur Electronics Pvt Ltd showcased its wireless and waterproof television at Digital Home 2006, the expo organised by the CII at Connect 2006.

This sleek looking TV is priced at about Rs 58,000 (plus taxes) and comes with a separate antenna unit. The unit resembles an external hard drive and has provision to connect into TV, PC, DVD, VCD and any other input device.

"You can take the TV around your house up to 40 metres from the antenna," said Mr S. Kaushik, Business Development Manager, Connoiseur Electronics.

There were more products on display by the company. Ever thought you could get a DVD player with a display screen for under Rs 15,000? Try the portable DVD player range priced at about Rs 12,000. It comes with a battery life of 4.5 hours and can be charged with an adapter unit.

If you thought Tom Cruise in "Mision Imposible: 2" was cool, you can match his style by buying those much coveted sunglasses with in-built memory. Connoiseur has a range of sunglasses that can store music.

"We were selling B2B only. This is the first time we have approached customers directly," said Mr Kaushik.
