Iinitiatives to counter skills shortage

Hyderabad , Sept. 10

With hiring and training reaching a new high in some sectors, a conference on global opportunities and the road ahead is indeed timely. The Executive Recruiters Association (ERA) has come with a major event here on September 15.

The focus would be on `BRIC Countries and Europe— Employment Scenario', at the 2nd National Conference of ERA. Mr S. Padmanabhan, Executive Vice-President, Global HR of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), will deliver the inaugural address.

About 600 delegates are expected to participate in the conference, which would have five major sessions in addition to the keynote address by Mr Prashant Srivastava, Country Head, Gallup India. Four sessions on employment opportunities in Brazil, Russia, India, China (BRIC) have also been scheduled. A separate session on Government initiatives relating to skills shortage in Andhra Pradesh has also been slated.

The participants would be CEOs, senior HR professionals, the recruitment fraternity and business leaders. Already about 330 have registered, according to the organisers here. The BRIC report by Goldman Sachs had predicted the rise of Brazil, Russia, India and China. The ERA has 8 chapters and over 100 members with 300 plus offices across the country. The TCS and IEG are the lead sponsors for the 2nd ERA conference and further details could be had from bala@consultingparadigm.com.
