Airlines Web Extras - New Products & Services States - Tamil Nadu Paramount adds evening flight on Madurai-Chennai Our Correspondent
Madurai , Sept. 11 Paramount Airways announced the launch of an evening flight on the Chennai-Madurai sector today.Mr M. Thiagarajan, Managing Director, Paramount Airways, told presspersons that the service will be available from September 15. The airline currently operates two morning flights on the sector. The flight will leave Chennai at 7 p.m. and reach Madurai at 7.55 p.m. It will leave Madurai at 8. 25 p.m. and reach Chennai at 9:20 p.m. The fare starts at Rs 1,999.

He further said the Airways would be providing the maximum connectivity and convenience to the citizens of Madurai. It will be connecting Madurai and Hyderabad via Chennai with an all-inclusive starting thoroughfare at Rs 5,949. Earlier passengers needed to buy two separate tickets. A day trip to Bangalore via Chennai would be introduced in the middle of November. The idea is to strengthen presence in the South, he said.
There are plans to introduce first class service in Chennai-Madurai sector from October 2 and upgrade the other flights in due course, he added.
Andhra Pradesh has brought down the sales tax on aviation fuel to 4 per cent from the prevailing rate of around 30 per cent. An appeal would be made to the Tamil Nadu and Kerala Governments to levy a realistic charge, Mr Thiagarajan said.
