TOCL to set up $ 2-m bio-diesel plant

Tinna Oil & Chemicals Ltd. (TOCL) is setting up a $2-million 50-tpd bio-diesel plant in Latur, Maharashtra. The plant will be ready for production by November. TOCL is a joint venture between the Delhi-based Rs 500-crore Tinna Group and $36-billion Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) of the US. The plant can be scaled up as per local demand in the future. TOCL is a manufacturer of edible oil in India with a 1,000 tonne per day crush facility each in Latur and Dharwad (Karnataka).

Tinna Group has started 1,500 acres of Jatropha plantation in Maharashtra. The group is looking at 20,000 acres of direct or indirect Jatropha plantation with an investment of around Rs 130 crore in the next three to four years.
