Software Web Extras - New Products & Services Vaakya Tech business application framework Our Bureau
Bangalore , Sept. 12 Vaakya Technologies has announced that the beta version of Vaakya Business Application Framework is now available. It will help cut down coding time by 30-40 per cent, said Mr K. Sudarshan, Chief Executive Officer and Promoter Director, Vaakya Technologies. The framework, basically a set of instructions, sits above the firm's proprietary architecture (Vaakya Environment) and simplifies application development work. It is targeted at small and medium enterprises offering IT applications. This suite of tools helps simplify transaction management, concurrency control, audit trail and session management. It has been designed taking into consideration the design, development, execution and maintenance aspects of software applications. "With this, a developer of, say, a retail application, need not be a programmer. With the descriptive language and easier graphical user interface, an application can be easily developed and hosted," said Mr Sudarshan.
Vaakya's USP is its minimal storage and memory usage. It has a small footprint of 1.5 MB and works on Windows, Linux and FreeBSD operating systems.
The entire product has been developed entirely in-house after exhaustive R&D for nearly three years. The framework is available on its Website www.vaakya.com for free download and trial for 45 days.
Vaakya's platform provides a fundamental `Software as a Service' (SaaS) option, as developers can offer both on-premise and SaaS using the same environment. Currently application developers do not have this option and have to design the same piece of software separately, said Mr Sudarshan.
Vaakya employs 30 in Bangalore and plans to hire around 15 C programmers by year-end. The company plans to develop more frameworks on the architecture that will enable easier development of e-mail, embedded and network programming applications.
