New Delhi , Sept. 12

Idaho, a State in the US, has signed an agreement with Mr Prem Behl, Founder-Chairman of the Exhibitions India Group, a trade fair organising company, to represent them in the subcontinent. This was announced by Governor of the State of Idaho, Mr Jim Risch, on Tuesday.

According to a press release, Idaho currently has trade offices and representatives in Taiwan, China, South Korea, Japan and Mexico.

Seven of Idaho's top 10 trading partners have been Asian nations. In just the last five years, those seven countries have gone from accounting for just under 51 per cent of Idaho exports to over 56 per cent, the release said.

But Idaho's trade with India has been limited over the years. In 2005, Idaho companies sold less than $10 million in goods and services to India, less than one per cent of total exports, it added.

Mr Behl is also handling the portofolio as "India Consultant" for the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the Israel Telecommunication Organisation (ITO), and the Israel Export & International Cooperation Institute (IEICI), it said.
