Air India selects Thales

Mumbai, Sept. 12

Air India has awarded a $70 million contract to Thales, the France-based global electronics company, for supplying entertainment systems on its 23 B777 aircraft to be inducted into its fleet from February 2007.

The order is for the Thales TopSeries digital audio and video on demand entertainment system. The airline had earlier signed up with Thales to install a similar system on its 6 B747-400 fleet costing $35 million.
