Thingalaya to head sub-group for 11th Plan

Mangalore, Sept. 13

The Planning Commission of India has appointed Mr N. K. Thingalaya as the Chairman of the sub-group on innovative finance and micro finance for the 11th five-year plan.

A press release by the Justice K.S. Hegde Institute of Management (JKSHIM), Nitte, said that Mr Thingalaya has written many books and prepared research reports on rural banking, micro finance and rural employment.

Mr Thingalaya is the former Chairman and Managing Director of Syndicate Bank. Currently, he is the Chairman of the Academic Council of JKSHIM. He was the member of the Karnataka Planning Board, the release added.
