Coimbatore, Sept. 13

Sun Microsystems has kick-started its operations through its partner Accel Frontline Ltd in Coimbatore. The company has identified 18 other cities/towns for expanding its presence over the next one year. "We are in the process of identifying partners for expanding our operations. Hopefully, by March next, we would have commenced operations in the 18 identified towns," Mr Rajesh Rege, Director (Sales), Sun Microsystems India, said here.

Mr Sudhir Nayar, Director (Partner Sales), while recapping the company's growth strategy said the annual server unit sales was growing at 14 per cent year-on-year. "Our market share has improved, while our competitors like IBM, HP and Dell are registering a decline. We have surpassed Dell to claim the third spot in the worldwide server revenue," he said.
