McDATA updates security tool

McDATA Corporation announced the update of its storage network management platform Enterprise Fabric Connectivity Manager version 9.0. The new software provides support for the latest features across McDATA switch and director portfolio, including its 4 and 10 Gb/s interfaces for maximum application performance and throughput, Open Trunking to optimise data flows and reduce inter-switch links (ISLs), its newly released Open VSANs as well as SAN LPARs for superior network segmentation and security in consolidated networks.

It also provides support for McDATA's advanced diagnosticsto quickly troubleshoot and isolate problems, protecting against outages and network threats.

Added security enhancements in the new software include support for standards-based features such as Authentication/CHAP Management, RADIUS server, Secure Shell version 2 (SSH2), said a press release from the company.
