Kerala Tourism has won an Honourable Mention award at the 2006 Unesco Asia-Pacific Heritage Awards. The award was conferred on Kerala Tourism for a project to conserve and restore the Arakkal Kettu palace in the State's Kannur district, an official release said. Kerala Tourism is one of the three recipients of the Honourable Mention awards conferred this year. The project to restore Arakkal Kettu transformed the 400-year-old palace complex into a heritage museum on the State's Muslim royal traditions, the press release added.
