Chennai, Sept. 14

The Chairman of Life Insurance Corporation of India, Mr T.S. Vijayan, will inaugurate the fourth annual convention of Life Underwriters Guild of India (LUGI) here on Friday.

Over 400 participants, most of whom are life insurance agents, are expected at the three-day convention, Mr P. Srinivasan, President of LUGI, told a press conference here today. LUGI, a not-for-profit organisation, works towards helping insurance agents to upgrade their knowledge and skills. It is recognised by the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) of the US, a body of top-performing insurance advisors. From January, any insurance advisor who wants a MDRT membership would first have to be a member of LUGI, Mr Srinivasan said.
