BCCL picks up 9.9% stake in Dixon Technologies

New Delhi , Sept. 18

Dixon Technologies, manufacturers of the Weston brand of consumer electronics, on Monday said it has entered into a "strategic alliance" with Bennett Coleman and Company Ltd (BCCL) under which the latter would pick up a 9.9 per cent stake in the company.

The company has plans for rebuilding the Weston brand, one of the first colour television brands in India, with investment into research and development and marketing activities, Dixon Technologies said in a statement. In 2005-06, the company's CTV and DVD sales grew by 27 per cent and 70 per cent respectively, it said.
