To focus on garments collections for 2007

The 23rd edition of India Knit Fair (IKF) will open on October 11 in Tirupur. The three-day fair will focus on garments for the autumn, winter and mid-summer collections for 2007.
The fair is expected to draw garment exhibitors from New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore besides the local manufacturer/exporters from Tirupur.
The fashion garments to be showcased in the fair are blazers, blouses, cardigan, pullovers, leggings, polo shirts, track-suits. The merchandises will cover men/women and childrenwears.
According to a press note from the organisers of the fair, India Knit Fair Association, the German PR agency, Prexma Consulting, is being engaged as the PR consultants who will assist in motivating the business travellers and buyers from EU countries.
Overseas visitors from about 70 countries are expected to the three-day fair to be inaugurated by the Coimbatore District Collector, Mr Neeraj Mittal, the release added.
A new convention centre of international standards is being built at the IKF complex, Tirupur. The 700-seater convention centre with a floor area of 30,000 sq ft being built at a cost of Rs.1.6 crore atop the IKF complex will be a pillar-less structure.
The centre is promoted by the IKF in association with the Tamil Nadu Water Investment Company Ltd. The new facility is nearing completion, the IKF sources said.
