Hopes to achieve a $ 500 million turnover by 2008-09

MR ANDERS LIDBECK

Bangalore , Sept. 19

Telelogic, enterprise lifecycle management solutions provider, has announced the expansion of its operations in India with the opening of two regional offices in Pune and Delhi. It hopes to achieve a $ 500 million turnover by 2008-09.

The $ 200-million Telelogic also plans to open sales offices in Chennai and Hyderabad by October. The company is also planning to grow inorganically and will look at potential target firms to acquire. Its most recent acquisition was I-logix in March this year.

The Swedish company plans to hire 50 engineers in Bangalore as part of its growth plans. With its presence in India since 2000, it already had 220 employees, 100 of them engineers in the product development division. Other plans announced by the visiting Chief Executive, Mr Anders Lidbeck, include introducing the recently acquired Rhapsody product into Indian market and working on e-governance initiatives.

"Working from the road/ home/ customer site is now possible with enterprise lifecycle management. Regulatory compliance can also be achieved using such platforms," said Mr Lidbeck.

"Salaries are increasing here by 10-15 per cent every year and we had cheaper alternatives such as Romania in Eastern Europe. However, we perceived the advantage in India with language and skills and put up a product development centre here," he added.
