Human Resources Industry & Economy - Education Lifestyle, NIFT tie up to groom retailers Our Bureau
The Vice-President, Human Resources of Lifestyle International, which manages about 12 such large stores in the country now, Mr Louis Anthony, told Business Line that there is growing demand for trained manpower in this segment. The industry is also faced with attrition. s a part of corporate social responsibility, Lifestyle, would select youths who have passed 10 plus 2 or degrees and train them for three months at NIFT. The entire course fee would be met by Lifestyle. They will later be inducted into the stores and be offered salaries. Those trained at the NIFT will have the opportunity to grow up the ladder within the store chain and alternatively they can seek jobs in other stores after two years at Lifestyle. The course seeks to provide practical understanding of the retail concepts, store organisation with emphasis on customer relationship management and latest retail trends.
