New Products & Services DuPont's new printing system launched Our Bureau
Chennai , Sept. 25 Colour Dot (Madras) Private Ltd has launched a digital flexographic plate printing system from DuPont Imaging Technologies and Singapore-based Esko-Graphics Private Ltd. Targeted at the packaging industry, this is the first such system in India, said Mr R.S. Bakshi, Managing Director, Colour Dot. The three-unit system costing about Rs 2 crore includes DuPont's "Cyrel FAST" (plate development unit that uses dry thermal technology), ECLF 1000 (plate exposer unit) and Esko's "Cyrel Digital Imager Spark 4835" (digital imaging unit with pre-press software). Using this system would help reduce the plate processing time from about three hours to about 45 minutes a plate, said Mr Vijay Ramachandran, Sales Manager - India Subcontinent, DuPont Imaging Technologies. The system can adapt faster to change in design and has a resolution of about 250 lines per inch, he said. Plate processing does not involve use of organic solvents and is thus environment friendly.
