Ministry releases G-Secs calendar

The Finance Ministry on Monday released an indicative calendar for issuance of government securities for second half of fiscal 2006-07. The borrowing calendar, issued after consultation with the Reserve Bank of India, covers the period from October 1, 2006 to March 31, 2007 and involves an amount of Rs 63,000 crore. An official statement said that the release of the borrowing calendar would enable institutional and retail investors to plan their investment in a better manner besides providing transparency and stability in the government securities market.
