Madurai, Sept 26

The Madurai District Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association (Maditssia) has urged the President, Mr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, to help secure more facilities for southern Tamil Nadu. In a memorandum, the association appealed for developing an integrated IT park in Madurai with hardware manufacture and software development and services.

It sought a mandate to technical institutes to develop rapport with Maditssia for practical entrepreneur development of students. It also wants Anna University to come out with a suitable curriculum in this regard. The memorandum has called for instruction to local bodies to ensure planned development of towns. The association also sought Mr Kalam's permission to arrange interactive sections between him and students in semi-urban and rural areas.
