Having two or three connections in one's name is the in-thing in mobile world, making an addition of 5.28 million new mobile subscriptions to a total of 111.23 million in the country. Fixed-line subscribers declined by 0.06 million, marking the user base at 47.36 million. The total telephone subscribers reached 158.59 million and tele density reached 14.40 million in the country at the end of July 2006.
