The Hindu Business Line : VLSI design meet to be held in Jan

The 20th International Conference on VLSI Design and the 6th International Conference on Embedded Systems will be held in January next year. The event presents on opportunity to raise the level of awareness about EDA design and the technology challenges and trends in the VLSI sector.

Speaking to newspersons here, some members of the committee spoke of the growing potential of the Indian chip design industry. Of the 200 semiconductor companies that currently have operations in India, about 120 are into chip design. Analyst reports say the Indian design industry services will jump to $43 billion by 2015 from the $3-billion market now.
