MR RAVAN BODDU
Chennai , Sept. 27 Mr Ravan Boddu, CEO, iSoft India, part of the UK-based iSoft plc, is to quit the company. He will continue to be with the business for the next few months and help identify his successor, according to a company spokesperson. In 2001, Mr Boddu was responsible for setting up the Chennai operations of iSoft, which supplies advanced medical software applications for the healthcare sector. "Yes, Mr Boddu has expressed a wish to quit for personal reasons. We respect his decision while recognising the enormous contribution he has made towards iSoft's industry-leading development capabilities," the spokesperson said in an e-mail response to Business Line. The spokesperson said the number of employees in India has not altered significantly this year due to accounting irregularities discovered recently at iSoft Group.
It may be recalled that on July 20, 2006, iSOFT Group's board commissioned an investigation into possible accounting irregularities and the independent investigation concluded that there was evidence of irregularities affecting the financial year 2003-04 and 2004-05, iSOFT said in its financial results for the year ended April 2006.
iSOFT is in discussion with a specialist software development company to partner in selected areas of development and will make an announcement if and when it becomes appropriate, he said.
