Intex Tech sees Rs 275-cr turnover

Intex Technologies, the Delhi-based IT hardware manufacturer, is targeting a Rs 500-crore turnover in 2007-08. Speaking to reporters at the launch of its IT products in the city, Mr Narendra Bhansal, Managing Director, Intex Technologies, said the company would reach a turnover of Rs 275 crore this year.

The firm has formulated a strategy to foray into the South. The target sales revenue is expected to be more than Rs 12 crore from Karnataka alone. Intex is hoping to sell 10,000 units in the next quarter here. The company has been performing well in Bangalore, Mysore, Hubli, Belgaum and Mangalore. It aims to expand in B and C cities such as Bellary, Raichur, Gulbarga, Shimoga, Bijapur and Tumkur, in the State. The company has 40 channel partners in the Karnataka and plans to expand this to 80 this year, said Mr Pankaj Dubey, GM - Sales and Marketing, Intex Technologies India. "We plan to invest Rs 100 crore in 2007," he said.

The company has over 21 product categories and is constantly expanding the range. Products launched include DVD players, a 19-inch LCD monitor, flash drive, an MP3 player, an MP4 video player and an FM modulator (for playing songs from your MP3 player over your car stereo).

The DVD players cost between Rs 3,540 and Rs 3,790. The 19-inch TFT LCD monitor was launched at an MOP of Rs 13,500. The 512 MB MP3 player is priced at Rs 2,560 while the MP4 video player is priced at Rs 5,200. The 512 MB flash drive and FM modulator are priced at Rs 1,200 and Rs 2,560 respectively.

The Rs 189-crore company has a manufacturing plant at Jammu and is constructing another at Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, which will be operational by the end of the year.
