Bangalore, Sept. 28

Discovery Channel has announced the launch of two new series — Discovery Marquee and Discovery Week. While Discovery Marquee will recreate historic epics, stories and legends, Discovery Week provides a preview of the following week's shows on the channel.

The half-hour Discovery Week show will be hosted by Bollywood actor Rahul Khanna. It will be peppered with in-depth insights, studio interviews and on-site interactions with celebrities and experts who will share their experiences on the subjects covered by the programmes. The show will air every Saturday at 10 p.m. from September 30, with a repeat on Sundays at 11.30 a.m. Introducing the one-hour Discovery Marquee show, Mr Rahul Khanna said: "It is a huge recreation of historical events and legends on a cinematic block buster style."

The legends to be featured include Genghis Khan and Hannibal and Jim Corbett and the man-eating leopard of Rudraprayag. The show will be aired every Monday at 8 p.m. starting October 2.
