Rupee flat against dollar

Our Bureau

Mumbai, Oct. 4

The rupee traded flat against the dollar on Wednesday. The currency opened at 45.74 to end the day at 45.74/75, against Tuesday's 45.75. However, trading was quite volatile with the rupee reaching a level of 45.65. Aggressive dollar buying by nationalised banks for oil companies pushed down the rupee. "Domestic equity markets ending low also impacted the rupee," the dealer added. In forwards, the six-month premium closed at 1.46 per cent (1.40 per cent) and the 12-month ended at 1.43 per cent (1.40 per cent).
