LKB appeal to staff on strike

Our Bureau

Proposes a special one-time increment to the staff

Kochi, Oct. 5

The Managing Director of Lord Krishna Bank, Mr B. Swaminathan, has appealed to all employees, who have been agitating against the bank's proposed merger with the Centurion Bank of Punjab, to return to work.

He has reiterated that there will be neither retrenchment of staff, nor closure of any branches within or outside Kerala and that the focus of the bank will continue to be on social banking, in the best interest of the people. As a gesture of solidarity and commitment to the staff of the bank, the management has taken a decision to provide a special one-time increment to the LKB staff.

The agitation has "caused extreme inconvenience to the existing customers of your bank by disrupting access to their daily banking needs for which they have relied upon us for many years," Mr Swaminathan said.
