Protiviti enters India

Protiviti Inc, a US-based global internal audit and risk consulting services provider, on Wednesday announced the launch of its operation in India with the opening of its offices in Mumbai and New Delhi.

"India has one of the largest economies in the world combined with a robust business climate. The country provides huge potential for our business to grow," said Mr Gary Peterson, Managing Director-Asia Pacific, Protiviti.

Mr Peterson said the company would operate in India as Protiviti Consulting Private Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Protiviti Inc and would provide independent risk consulting services to both Indian and global companies. The company would provide services to private equity firms for acquisition of stake in companies. It would also offer both pre and post acquisition assistance in terms of risk management, he said.

Currently, the company will be catering to 20 of its global clientele in the country, who either have base in India or have subsidiaries. "In the next 2-3 months, we hope to get some domestic clients in our fold," said Mr Peterson.

The company would provide solutions in the area of internal audit, business and technology risk and has identified six sectors including oil and gas, telecom and ITeS.
