$120-m film Buddha launched

Buddha, a $120-million feature film, based on the life and teachings of Buddha, was launched in Los Angeles by Dr Bhupendra Kumar Modi, Chairman, MCorpGlobal, under the banner of M Films. The film is based on the world-renowned Vietnamese Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh's book `Old Path White Cloud,' based on Buddha and His Teachings. The Dalai Lama, blessed the film. Buddha is a large-scale commercial to be shot in the US, Japan, China, Thailand and India. Casting for the film, which will be in English, will begin immediately while the shooting will start early 2007. Worldwide release is scheduled for 2008.
