Lakshmi Vilas Bank has effected a downward revision in the interest rate on its NRE, FCNR and RFC deposit with effect from October 1.

The revised rate on FCNR (B) $ deposit for maturity period of 1 and 2 years has fallen to 5.30 per cent (5.41), for the 2 to 3 year period to 5.09 (5.24), between 3 and 5 years at 5.01 against the earlier rate of 5.18 per cent for the 3 to 4 year deposit. The rate on the NRE term deposit has been reduced to 6.30 per cent (6.41) for the one to two year deposit, to 6.10 (6.24) for the 2 and 3 year maturity period.
