The Chennai Container Terminal, the private operator at the Chennai port, has introduced electronic filing of Form 13, an approval given to bring in or take out boxes from the terminal.

Through the introduction of e-form 13, the CCT, part of the Dubai-based DP World, has dispensed with the physical transfer of the form from one stakeholder to the other to comply with the documentation requirement for an export at CCT.

The trials conducted on four container vesselswere successful and the specific trade requirements have been incorporated in subsequent trials, the CCT said in a trade notice.
