Letters Clemency petition
This is with reference to "President sets an ominous precedent" (Business Line, October 10): Afzal Guru's case is proving to be an acid test in the campaign to abolish capital punishment. Granting clemency is the prerogative of the President; he will have to take a conscientious decision. The President should be allowed to make a decision on his own, without pressure from anyone.
