NEPC plans to diversify

NEPC India on Tuesday announced its intention to diversify into two new businesses — stair lift and hybrid power system using high voltage batteries, inverters and UPS.

In a notification to the BSE, NEPC said that the company had been engaged for over two years in R&D for providing a lift that could be fitted on existing stairs. "The company plans to launch the pilot marketing in the next 30 days," the notification says.

It says that the concept of `hybrid power system,' using solar cell, windmill, fuel cell technology is being brought in "for the first time in the world."

The product, which promises to make "homes in cities, towns and villages free from the threat of power cuts," is a result of "three years of hard work."

NEPC India also plans to create a "full-fledged R&D division." The company expects that this R&D effort will contribute to focus on different and varied business lines to achieve further growth for the benefit of the various stakeholders of the company," the notification says.
