Air Sahara to offer new services

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct. 11

Air Sahara is looking at operating more flights from Thiruvananthapuram, said Mr Alok Sharma, President, Sahara Airlines Ltd. The airline, which launched a daily non-stop flight from Thiruvananthapuram to New Delhi last week, is keenly looking at operating flights that connect Thiruvananthapuram with Colombo and Male in the Maldives, he said.

The airline's policy is to launch flights on routes that are currently under serviced and where demand exists, he added. A factor that hinders airlines that operate to Kerala is the high sales tax on aviation turbine fuel , he said. The company plans to request the State Government to consider lowering the rate of sales tax on ATF, Mr Sharma added.
