Maharashtra, Dempo Group sign pact

Mumbai, Oct. 11

The Maharashtra Government and Sindhudurg Mining Corporation, a Dempo Group company, on Wednesday signed a MoU for the setting up of a Greenfield Rs 1,000-crore mining project in the backward Sindhudurg district.

The project envisages identification and prospecting of banded iron formations, mining and extraction of the mineral, and setting up of a facility for processing the material to value-added concentrates for supply to major steel mills.
