PGCIL signs pact with Afghanistan

State-owned Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) has signed an agreement with Afghanistan's Ministry of Energy and Water for extending consultancy services for the tender evaluation and construction supervision for a $37-million power transmission and distribution project.

PGCIL would draw a consultancy fee of $776,692 from the ADB-funded project for the services it would render, a company release said. PGCIL secured this assignment against stiff international competitive bidding, the release said.
