Industry & Economy - Economy
For a different quote

Scribes in the capital have developed a new art to elicit comments from reticent Ministers and the target, more often than not, is the Finance Minister, P. Chidambaram. Normally, it goes something like this. First, the Minister makes it clear that he has nothing to say. Still, the scribes follow him and someone politely asks: Manufacturing has done very well. So.., asks Chidambaram. Will that add to the pressure on interest rates? From here starts the story because the Finance Minister goes into some detail about his expectations on the interest rate trend, following which will come a question on inflationary expectations and, for the scribes, the day is made, never mind that the Finance Minister has said the same things umpteen times in recent days.

But the scribes justify their action — you never know when the Minister might say something new. So it is definitely worth a try.
