Software Network General to expand Our Bureau

Bangalore , Oct. 12 US-based Network General announced expansion plans in the city and introduced a host of its products for diagnosing network issues. The company has decided to increase the headcount of its development team by 15 per cent and double the sales and marketing team in India over the next year. Products such as Sniffer Administrator, Visualizer and Portable are owned and developed by the company's 105-member team in Bangalore. "The Bangalore centre is our pride and joy," said Mr Bill Gibson, Chief Executive Officer, Network General. The centre contributes to over 60 per cent of the company's development resources worldwide. "Increasingly India is emerging, and being recognised globally, as a hub of innovation across multiple services lines and capabilities. It is heartening to see the significant contribution of companies in India towards such efforts. Sunrise markets like network and application performance management have immense potential," said Mr Kiran Karnik, President of the industry body Nasscom. Network General invests Rs 130 crore a year in research and development. Network Intelligence Suite and networkDNA Architecture are two products the company launched on Thursday in the city. The company also introduced VoIP Forensics, a solution in the Network Intelligence suite that will provide real-time monitoring of Voice over IP performance data and metrics through integrated troubleshooting.
